System Introduction
Our research and development of the (Tiegu) adhesive waterproof system is based on leveraging the strengths and overcoming the weaknesses of traditional products. This is the true reason why the (Tiegu) adhesive waterproof system has been favored by waterproofing professionals since its inception.
Currently, many projects use modified asphalt waterproof membranes. These materials use a substrate (such as polyester, fiberglass, or composite) as the framework, with modified asphalt adhered to both sides. The asphalt surface is then coated with a PE film, or sometimes with colored sand or aluminum foil. The PE film acts as a protective layer during the rolling process to ensure the membrane can be rolled up. During construction, a gasoline torch is used to melt the PE film and asphalt, and the hot membrane is then adhered to the base layer to achieve waterproofing. This method is convenient and fast, but has several drawbacks:
◆ Hot melt application is unsafe and can easily cause fires and personal injury.
◆ Direct heating of the membrane significantly damages its quality.
◆ Difficult to apply to complex areas of the building (which are also important areas for waterproofing).
◆ Unable to seal direct leaks in the base layer, such as cracks, pores, and capillaries in the concrete base.
◆ Overlaps between membranes are prone to problems.
◆ Poor adhesion between the membrane and the base layer allows water to flow freely underneath, often leading to multiple leaks from a single point.
◆ Leaks are difficult to locate (as the leak point may have shifted), making repairs difficult and often requiring the entire waterproof layer to be replaced, resulting in significant economic losses.
For the reasons above, the hot melt application method is both unsafe and presents significant quality control challenges.
In recent years, to address the problems of hot application, self-adhesive modified asphalt waterproof membranes have been introduced to the market. These membranes modify the asphalt on one side with a polymer adhesive, making it soft and adhesive at room temperature. A release film then covers the adhesive material, allowing the membrane to be rolled. During construction, a base layer treatment agent is applied to the base, the release film is removed, and the membrane is adhered to the base to achieve waterproofing.
While self-adhesive membranes are a significant improvement over hot-melt application, they still have several issues:
◆ Complex areas of the base layer (requiring key waterproofing) are not well addressed.
◆ Direct leaks in the base layer are not sealed.
◆ Removing the release film increases costs and waste, and also generates construction waste, impacting sanitation.
◆ Bond strength is affected by temperature. Below 5℃, adhesion is affected, and sometimes a torch is needed for application.
◆ Limited adhesive strength causes sagging during vertical application, often requiring cement nails for fixing, damaging the membrane and affecting waterproofing quality.
In summary, we believe that both types of waterproofing materials have certain problems, and the waterproofing effect is not reliably guaranteed. Our company's WJG-TG700 adhesive waterproof system effectively addresses the shortcomings of the above two methods. Practical engineering experience has proven that the adhesive waterproof system has the following advantages:
◆ Retains the advantages of modified asphalt membranes: aging resistance, UV resistance, water resistance, corrosion resistance, moderate price, and readily available materials.
◆ Inherits traditional waterproofing methods and is easily accepted by users and workers.
◆ Directly addresses leaks in the base layer by using a base adhesive to seal major leak points before applying the large-area waterproof layer, effectively improving waterproofing quality.
◆ The adhesive and membrane bond tightly, enhancing adhesion strength, eliminating the need for nails even in vertical applications. This is because the adhesive and membrane use materials with mutual affinity. Upon contact, the adhesive strength is immediately apparent.
◆ Once adhered, it is difficult to peel off. The adhesive uses a viscous rubber as the bonding base material, and this rubber film is vulcanized at room temperature (unlike most rubber products, which are vulcanized at high temperatures). The vulcanization line is flat, and over time, its strength increases, as does its adhesive strength. The adhesive is protected by the membrane from UV and ozone, and its copolymerization with asphalt materials also provides strong aging resistance.
This is the principle behind its strong adhesion and resistance to peeling.◆ Achieves tight bonding between the membrane, base adhesive, and base layer, creating a mutually supportive waterproof system that improves waterproofing quality and extends the service life.
◆ Simple repairs. Since there is no water seepage under the waterproof layer, leak points are easy to find, and repairs only require surface treatment, eliminating the need for complete replacement and saving significant repair costs.
◆ Cold application eliminates fire hazards and personal injury.
◆ Simple operation and easy-to-master construction techniques reduce labor intensity.
◆ Special formulation and process make the application unaffected by temperature, allowing application even at -20℃.
◆ Simple tools are required; no torch, gasoline, or base layer treatment agent is needed. A scraper and roller are sufficient, saving construction costs.
Product Introduction
